Since the summer of 1992 we have been providing our special needs summer camp on our 5-acre lakefront property on Sparrow Lake in the scenic Muskokas. Camp Winston accommodates 20 children, and up to 10 teenagers (graduates of our camper programme) at each of our 4 - 2-week sessions.
During our first 2 - 2-week sessions we provide a residential summer camp for boys aged 6 to 13 with any of the following diagnoses:
Tourette Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Anxiety Disorder
For the second part of the summer, during our 3rd and 4th sessions we accommodate boys and girls aged 6 - 15 with a diagnosis of Autism and other P.D.D. spectrum disorders.
Concurrent with our Autism Camp during our 3rd & 4th session we provide a 2-week programme for girls aged 6-13 with the same diagnosis of the children in our boys programme.
Camp Winston has an extensive waiting lists for our summer camp programme.
To be eligible for future camp spaces your child must be on our waiting
list. Each February we select campers by order of the date they were
registered on our waiting list. If a space opens up for your child we will
contact you directly. You can expect a two to three year wait for our summer
camp programme. This wait can be less, so don't be discouraged. We strongly
suggest younger children to be placed on our waiting list (4 to 5 year
olds). There is a possibility, especially for older children, that a space
may never open up. All campers on our waiting lists are invited to
participate in the variety recreational and educational programmes that we
offer throughout the year.
